Privacy Policy

FaithBeacon LLC ("FaithBeacon", "we") operates the FaithBeacon mobile app and website — a community where people share their experiences visiting churches and discover a church home. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Account information — your first name, email address, ZIP code, and optional profile details (denomination background, life stage, profile photo).
• Content you share — church experiences (ratings, dimension answers, written text), beacons, saved churches, church submissions, and replies posted by claimed churches. Experiences are public and shown with your first name and profile photo.
• Product feedback — if you send us a bug report or feature request, we store the report. If you opt in to be contacted, we use your account email solely to follow up about that report. If you don't opt in, we don't contact you about it.
• Location — your ZIP code, and (only if you grant iOS permission) your device location, used to find churches near you and show distances. Precise location is never stored on our servers or shown to other users.
• Church-claim verification — if you claim a church, our verification partner Didit verifies your identity with a government ID. Didit processes that verification under its own privacy policy; we receive only the verification result, never your ID document.

How we use it

• To operate FaithBeacon: showing experiences, computing church warmth and match scores, sending the notifications you enable, and powering church discovery near you.
• To keep the community safe: moderation of reported content and enforcement of our Terms of Service.
• To improve the product using feedback you send us.

What we don't do

• We never sell your personal data.
• We don't use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
• We don't share your data with third parties except the service providers who run FaithBeacon (hosting, email delivery, identity verification for church claims), each bound to use it only on our behalf.

Your choices

• Location and notification permissions are optional and controlled in iOS Settings.
• You can edit or delete your experiences at any time in the app.
• You can delete your account from Profile → Delete Account, which removes your personal data from our systems.

Children

FaithBeacon is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we'll update this page and note it in the app.
