Privacy Policy

FaithBeacon ("we," "our," or "us") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a church discovery and experience platform. We built FaithBeacon to help people find churches that fit — and to give members a place to share what makes their church home special. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We take your privacy seriously. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising targeting. FaithBeacon is a space to find community — not a data marketplace.

When you create a FaithBeacon account, we collect: Account information — your first name, email address, denomination (optional), and life stage (optional). We do not collect your last name, date of birth, or specific age. Profile avatar — you may optionally upload a profile photo or image. This image may be visible to other users of the platform. Content you create — church experiences, beacon ratings, and any other content you voluntarily submit through the app. Usage data — how you interact with the app, including pages viewed, searches performed, and features used. This helps us improve the experience. Device information — device type, operating system, and app version for technical support and analytics purposes. We do not collect payment information, government identification, or precise real-time location data.

We use the information we collect to: — Create and maintain your FaithBeacon account — Display your profile, experiences, and beacon activity within the app — Send you transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset) — Send product updates and announcements if you have opted in — Improve, personalize, and develop the FaithBeacon platform — Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service — Respond to your support requests We will never sell your personal information to third parties. We will never use your denomination, life stage, or church affiliation for targeted advertising.

FaithBeacon is a community platform. When you post an experience or light a beacon, the following may be visible to other users: — Your first name — Your profile avatar (if uploaded) — Your experiences and beacon ratings — Your general activity on the platform (e.g., number of beacons given) Your email address, denomination, and life stage are never displayed publicly. You control whether to upload a profile photo.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business purposes (such as preventing fraud). Experiences and beacon activity may remain on the platform in anonymized form after account deletion to preserve the integrity of the community record.

You have the right to: — Access the personal information we hold about you — Correct or update your account information at any time through the app — Delete your account and associated personal data — Opt out of non-transactional communications at any time — Request a copy of your data To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@faithbeacon.com.

FaithBeacon uses a limited number of third-party services to operate the platform, including: — Mapbox — for the Beacon Atlas map functionality. Mapbox may collect map interaction data per their own privacy policy. — Analytics providers — to understand how users interact with the app in aggregate, anonymized form. — Cloud infrastructure providers — for secure data storage and app delivery. We do not share personally identifiable information with these providers beyond what is necessary to operate the service.

FaithBeacon is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at hello@faithbeacon.com and we will promptly delete the account.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify registered users by email for material changes. Your continued use of FaithBeacon after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
