Terms of Service

By creating a FaithBeacon account or using the FaithBeacon platform (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. FaithBeacon is operated by FaithBeacon ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms govern your use of our mobile application, website, and any related services.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use FaithBeacon. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@faithbeacon.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

FaithBeacon, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is a church discovery and community experience platform. It allows: — Seekers to discover and research churches through community-written experiences — Members to share honest experiences of their church and light beacons to help others find community FaithBeacon is a neutral platform. We do not endorse, recommend, or certify any specific church, denomination, or religious organization. Experiences represent the personal opinions of individual users.

When you submit an experience, beacon, or any other content ("User Content") to FaithBeacon, you: — Retain ownership of your content — Grant FaithBeacon a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use your content within the platform — Represent that your content is truthful, based on genuine personal experience, and does not violate any third-party rights We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms without notice.

You agree not to post content that: — Is false, misleading, or not based on genuine personal experience — Is hateful, discriminatory, harassing, or threatening toward any individual, church, denomination, or group — Contains personal attacks on pastors, staff, or congregation members — Includes personal contact information of individuals without their consent — Violates any applicable law or regulation — Is spam, promotional, or commercially motivated — Infringes the intellectual property rights of others FaithBeacon is a place for honest community experience — not a platform for coordinated attacks, promotional content, or personal vendettas. We take content integrity seriously.

A "beacon" represents a genuine endorsement of a church based on your personal experience. By lighting a beacon, you confirm that it reflects your honest, firsthand experience at that church. Coordinated beacon campaigns, incentivized beacons, and fake or inauthentic experiences are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination. FaithBeacon reserves the right to investigate and remove any beacon or experience that appears inauthentic, regardless of its content.

You may optionally upload a profile avatar. By uploading an image, you confirm that: — You own the image or have the right to use it — The image does not depict another person without their consent — The image does not contain nudity, offensive content, or trademarked material FaithBeacon may remove avatars that violate these standards.

You agree not to: — Use the Service for any unlawful purpose — Attempt to access other users' accounts or the platform's backend systems — Scrape, copy, or redistribute FaithBeacon content at scale without written permission — Use automated tools to create accounts or post content — Interfere with the security or integrity of the platform — Impersonate any person, church, or organization

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, without prior notice. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

FaithBeacon is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Church information, experiences, and ratings on FaithBeacon represent user opinions only. We do not verify the accuracy of user-submitted church information and are not responsible for decisions made based on content found on the platform.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FaithBeacon shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service or reliance on any content found within it. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (or $100 if you have not made any payments).

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Texas.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Your continued use of the Service after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
